Plumbing

How hard can it be to replace a broken bit?

Hubby was not happy at having to spend some of his Saturday on the problem, he has already said "Your friend broke this?  You broke the end off this?  I could have fixed it earlier but not now?"  Och you can just hear him!!  

Anyhow no combination of plumbing bits I keep buying will fix the damn thing.
