Fire, Fire!

Having been warned to expect the worst, it was a bonus to wake up to sunshine and blue skies, a complete contrast to the dreich looking weather at the start of the London Marathon.
As we walked home from our own marathon feast of toast and marmalade at the café by the canal, a siren sounded at the Tollcross Fire station, a voice carried over the tannoy, the doors opened and out popped two fire tenders with blue lights flashing. This is the stuff of pure delight for little boys and grown up husbands. The blip was taken and we both said at the same time, let's not hope it's hurrying to our address.

Yesterday evening while idly looking out of the window I saw a baby rabbit hopping over the patio, a squirrel running about three feet away, and a crow removing a small decorated stone from the patio, and dropping it further off on the grass. I have never ever seen any rabbits anywhere on the Meadows, and I've no idea what the crow was wanting with the stone. Confused I am.

I dedicate this blip to Gillipaw, whose father was the Assistant Chief Fire Officer at this very fire station. My extra image is of the metal sculpture above the station door.
