Winter again

It snowed today. Not much at our level but you can see in this image the snow that remains on the mountains of South Uist. As the day wore on however the sun came out and whilst still cold, the light was clear and bright.
A Great White Egret (rare up here - fourth record ever I think) was hunched up and looking decidedly miserable on a freshwater loch. Can't say I blame it as it was probably wishing it was in its more normal habitat of a warm French martime marsh.
Black-tailed Godwits are everywhere in their Summer finery. Shame the weather hasn't spotted the summer aspect too....
