Emerging Beech leaves

What wonderful weather today. We had to get out this morning, before doing the other things we had to do. And so ........

...... Our favourite nearby circular walk involves walking from the swing bridge over the Weaver at Bartington, along the river to Dutton Locks, then turning through fields and a bluebell wood to Dutton and the Trent and Mersey Canal to return. Everything looked fabulous, I took loads of photos. Lots of birds singing (the reed warblers, whitethroats and blackcaps are back, catch up with the sedge warblers next time)' the bluebell wood was carpeted with .... well, bluebells, anemones, and emerging wild garlic, and we had an excellent mug of tea and fruit cake at the excellent Bluebell cottage garden nursery mid-way.

I liked this photo of sunlight shining through emerging beech leaves, hanging over the canal, so that's the blip.
