A Day Worth Recording

Spetchley

We went to Spetchley Park Gardens this afternoon.

I'd passed the place on the commutes to Cambridge but we'd not been before.  There was a plant sale on, which was the trigger for going; plus it was a day of glorious sunshine.

Fantastic place.  Initially it looked pretty bare, just he house and big landscape; but then we found the actual gardens around the back.  It's arranged as lots of 'smaller' (size is somewhat relative) gardens of a wide variety of styles - all looking glorious.

Even better, the tree carver we'd been meaning to visit for some months had a stall / demo at the plant fair, so we had a good chat about what we were hoping for the big stumps (one of which is sort-of visible to the right of yesterday's blip).
