Bowood 2015 #17 (Sunday 19th April 2015)

Although the House and Grounds had opened for the season, I decided to do the public footpath walk up to Bowood Lake from Pillars Lodge in Mile Elm. It was a rather dull, overcast and shadowy day although the sun did come out on the return walk. I heard red kites calling and managed to see one before the end of the walk, and encountered both roe deer and fallow deer crossing my path but at some distance, as shown in the extra picture.

The field adjacent to the bridge and path was full of sheep and young lambs, a pair of pheasants and some Canada geese.
