We Could See the Shower Heading out to Sea

8.5C sunny spells, with one or two squally showers in the afternoon. Wind to 20 mph with gusts to 31 mph.

Dentist checkup day today. Clean bill of health other than the by now notorious filling that needs replaced yet again. I made an appointment at the end of June to have it done.

Just as Maeve the Deerhound and I were about to set off for our walk after lunch there was an unforecast shower. I brought the towels in from the whirly. We waited until the shower passed then we went out.

We went up to the church then continued out along the country road to Scryne. We walked out as far as Scryne then we turned round and came back to Craigmill farm where we turned left and went down the track to the shore. As we walked down the track we could see the shower heading out to sea, and when I turned round and looked South West I could see the next one heading our way.

We came home along the cycle path into the wind, and as we walked by the gate to the little field where the level crossing is the rain started. We pressed on round in a loop, heading into Carnoustie then up the main road where there is shelter from the wind before turning along for home. The rain went off as we walked up the main road and were dried off a bit before arriving home.
