New Town Shadows

For those who don't know, I administer a small informal group on here who set weekly and monthly challenges on different themes. The weekly ones are about taking a photo that meets the theme in any way you want and the monthly ones are more around trying to take a 'better' photograph in terms of quality, correct exposure, post processing etc.

This month the theme is SHADOWS and when the sun came out for a few minutes I thought it was a great opportunity to use the ornate lamps and gates around the New Town to create some interesting shadows on the floor. These shadows are on Scotland Street which was made famous by the Scottish author, Alexander McCall-Smith and is also the street that Trainspotting author, Irvine Welsh, lives on when he is in Scotland.
