a lifetime burning

A load of old bull

On the horns of a dilemma

Lunch with a client today, at a place which featured this fellow on the wall, or at least what was left of him.  You don't get any idea of size from this shot, but he was big.  Impressive, although I'm not a big fan of decorating styles that involve mounting animal heads on walls.

To seize the bull by the horns

The businesses year end has come and gone, and life is back to normal at work.  The bank holiday weekend seems to have started early, the phones and roads were much quieter today.  Cathy and I are taking the opportunity to visit our daughter Jess in St Petersburg, so Russian based blips will follow shortly.

Like a bull in a china shop

Our waitress was having a bit of an off day.   Her service was absolutely perfect, but In the hour and a half we were there she managed to break glasses in three separate incidents.  One appeared to involve a tray of glasses.  She seemed quite relaxed about her clumsiness.  She smiled sweetly as she explained that she was going back home to Lithuania for the long weekend.
