A time for everything

Sunday afternoon in the park

After our usual morning at church, we went for a walk in Sharon Woods. It was a lovely fall afternoon and quite a lot of people had come out to enjoy the weather and the fall colors. We couldnt stay too long as we were going on to an organ recital at Hyde Park United Methodist Church, by Thomas Trotter, who's Birmingham (England) City organist and also organist at St Margaret?s Church, Westminster Abbey in London and visiting Professor of Organ at the Royal College of Music. It was a wonderful program - great variety - from Handel to Messiaen and even an arrangement for organ of the William Tell Overture. Also another piece , which was almost exclusively using the foot pedals, which was amazing! It always amazes me the coordination organists must have to play with their hands and feet at the same time, as well as playing with stops etc - I have a hard enough time just using my hands playing the piano!

Hope you all had a great weekend.
