Cocktails

Last lunch on the island.  I lashed out and had a "Zombie" cocktail, W was much more restrained and had a mango juice!

The boat collected us promptly at 1500, and took us to Phuket island, where we were efficiently met by a taxi and transferred to the airport.

Sadly, at this point the smooth travel developed some bumps.  At Phuket, there was some chaos at the departure gate, with large numbers of people from the preceeding Air Asia flight, that had been delayed, still queueing at the gate that was posted as our departure gate.

In the end, the flight to Bangkok was smooth.

On arrival in Bangkok, we knew we would have quite a long time to sit around - our flight out was not scheduled until 0150 in the morning.  The international departures area was chaotic, with large numbers of people, mainly Chinese I think, milling around and repacking their suitcases, and packing stuff into boxes.  We presume that they have difficulty buying some items, and were taking stuff home for friends and relatives, as they were carrying huge amounts of what appeared to be mainly food items.

We had to sit around amongst all this frantic activity for quite a while before we could check in our suitcases.

Now our flight out has been delayed until 0230, but at least we are in the China Airlines lounge (one of the advantages of Business Class travel!)
