Starstruck

Admit to being a little starstruck today! The last stage of the Tour de Yorkshire was setting off in our hometown of Wakefield and, as the forecast was not so good and hubby was working, I decided it might be the easiest option to see something. So glad we went.

The atmosphere was great, we got there early and although it was raining there were people about and entertainment going on. Lottie was really giddy! We saw the team cars and trucks, with the lines of bikes. Wakefield had gone to town on the decorations. I missed the chance of a spot right opposite the sign on point as we went for another walk, but we did get a place virtually on the start line.

We saw some local school children set off on their lap of the city, and then the cyclists proper started to line up in front of us. I am not a huge cycling fan so didn't recognise any of them - apart from this chap! He was a bit further down from us but got a couple of shots of him chatting to team mates and then this as the roll out started!!

The weather picked up, Wakefield did the tour and itself proud and we had a great time.

Back home to sort my photos, persuade madam to finish her homework and make tea - and thank goodness it's a bank holiday tomorrow as this weekend has just flown!
