"Living Mannequins"
The Baddeck Library hosted a fabulous fund raiser event today....Living Mannequins, where 12 station were created in our very small and lovely library space. Each station had someone in costume reading and acting out a piece from a book - most of them had been the subject of George and Cora-Lees Dancing River Sprite Feasts! It was wonderful. After each presentation we were served a tasty appetizer....some made by Chef George and others made by 2-3 other local chefs. It was a lovely way to spend 2 1/2 hours out in the community with the sun shining. There were 3 sittings....1pm (we attended this one), 4pm and 7pm. Such an amazing amount of work and dedication. I'm always amazed at the various talents of folks around here! The money raised will go towards libraries around this area!
Here we have our very own librarian, Kate Oland, playing Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf. She did an amazing piece of acting, i was very impressed indeed.
Using the Extra photo section for the first time: We have Cora-Lee reading from The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstein; Claire reading from The Deranged Cousins by Edward Gorey, and Maryanne reading from The Enchanted April, by Elizabeth.
