don't be rude

This baby chaffinch is typical of youngsters demanding to be fed and then bobbing their tongue out, cheeky.

Kept travelling to a minimum this Bank Holiday and went to view the Leawood Pumphouse which was steamed up and working today. It was built in 1849 to pump water up from the R Derwent into the canal. As you can see in the extra it is working as well today as it was then. The pic is from the top of the building looking down onto one side of the beam and piston. I do love old machinery especially when it has an out can and oily rag in it but I'm a bit predictable and  a garden bird blip usually gets my blip preference.
