What a day......

I had no idea how the day would change after this tranquil walk through the pine trees at Amberley Beach, really today should've been a blip of a bus.

R walked down to the library which is normal for him. He got some books out and was to come home by bus but he got on the wrong bus and spent from noon till 3.30 riding the buses, he was completely lost and very confused.

Mum alerted us, we retraced his steps checking the library, parks, the fish and chip shop and everywhere else in between. We spoke to a bus driver who alerted all other drivers that an elderly man could well be on their bus and not really sure where he was going. Meanwhile R was on his way to Kaiapoi, then into Christchurch, round the Cashmere hills and back to Belfast before he realized his name and address was in his wallet.

I was down at the Police Station filing a missing persons report when the bus company rang mum - we were so relieved! The bus company returned him to us, he was tired and starving as he'd not eaten since morning tea and ever so grateful to be back home again. Needless to say we will have to rethink how we handle future library trips.

What a day, not really a happy Tuesday.

I'm ever so grateful for all the hearts, stars and lovely words for yesterday's 'Cabbage White and Frantic Bee', warm thanks to you all. I didn't get a chance to think of maymacromayhem challenge today.
