Micropropagation rules!

A number of years ago one of my favourite Rhododendron arboreum blew down - a tall shrub, a lovely bicolor, white with a pink rim. Of course I hadn't got round to propagating it so thought it was lost.

I phoned a microprop lab in Cornwall and arranged to send some material - several years later, last year in fact, four small plants were returned and were potted up. This year they're quite respectable young fellas, though it will be a while yet before they can be planted out. The wonders of science!
