The right to feed the population

Palestine suffer fromthe right to use the land for farming and the fishbanks to feed the population.

Today we spent the day With Union of Agriculture Work Committees (UAWC) in Gaza. This shot is from the new fish habour in Rafah where we met this gentleman Mohammed Khalil. He is the oldest fisherman in Rafah.  Here the fishermen face double trouble. To be shot on by the Israeli army on a regulary basis accord to the UN and from the Egyptian army on time to time.

Mohammed shows Pål the net that they now used since the small masked nets now is too wide, the catch any fish at all the masks must be even smaller. Most of the times the  catch is so small that it doesn't cover the cost of the diesel.

Maybe we will be the last fishermen in Gaza if the occupation and blocade doesn't stop. Why can't we have the right to feed our own people? ask Mohammed.
