View of the Castle

So I was going to post a view of the castle yesterday, as the sun was out and it was looking great, but I was distracted by futuristic electric cars, so instead I get to post the view from today.

While the castle is clearly not visible, it is in this damp misty weather that Edinburgh truly shows off its character. The old streets become still more ancient and you can feel the history everywhere. 

I often go for walks around the streets in the rain, revelling in a past of my imagination, trying to guess what might of happened on this exact spot hundreds of years ago, sometimes based on subtle clues, other times more obvious signs but always full of the character that I still feel today.
