The Thousand Islands

Although that is the name of this region, there are actually 1864 islands that sit in the St. Lawrence River between the U.S. And Canada, just before the river becomes Lake Ontario. The Thousand Islands are also the place of origin for the famous salad dressing.

We are here for a few days of relaxation and today took a boat ride around the islands. Many of the islands are small with only a single house on them. Some of the houses are quite large and have historical significance, having been built by the very wealthy at the turn of the 20th century. I particularly liked this one because it wasn't large and ostentatious, and had a lot of charm.
