A Sea of Bluebells

A group of bleary eyed photographers met up with tutors Doug and Valda in the pre dawn darkness at Micheldever Woods for the Bluebells Workshop with some trepidation as the forecast was dire with a threat of torrential rain and gales.

As it turned out however  apart from one brief shower early on the conditions proved to be perfect being calm deep in the forest and with glorious soft light interspersed with flashes of sunlight filtering through the trees. A truly magical experience.

We were taken to a part of the forest few people know and to say the bluebells were spectacular would be an understatement. As Doug said, these are the Rolls Royce of bluebell woods beautifully maintained by the Forestry Commission.

Many images were made and these are probably not the best, as they were quickly processed on the laptop. Can't wait to get them home to process properly and make some large prints.

Part of the workshop was a demonstration multi exposures and intentional camera movements to create impressionistic  images so have included one of my attempts in the Extra photos.
