Giant Buttercups ... Lisse, Zuid Holland

At ease today ... after all, my May holiday ends on Sunday ... ha!  I thought I would use today to get perhaps one last tulip shot.  This time, I drove north  to Lisse, again, close to the Keukenhof, and this was one of the fields that hadn't yet been cut.  On the way to Lisse, a downpour of hail rattled on the car, accompanied by gusty (gutsy) winds, the combination of which partially removed some of the mud that had splashed on the car during yesterday's tulip hunt.  By the time I got to Lisse, the sky was blue again but there was still enough cloud to block the sun every few minutes.

In front of this field, there was a sign:  "DO NOT ENTER this field!"  And what do I see on the field?  A wedding photo shoot.  I could hear the instructions:  "Now kiss her on the cheek!" ... "Now stand behind her and put your hand on her shoulder." ... "Now look at each other lovingly!"

Actually, Lisse was a rather bizarre 90-km. x 2 detour on the way to the supermarket which took some 4.5 hours -- 1 hour to get there, 1 hour to drive around Lisse and Hillegom looking for a pretty field and to blip, 2.5 hours to get back because of traffic.  At the supermarket, aside from the usual, I also had to buy a 6-pack and cake because we had guests tonight -- bro-in-law J's eldest daughter and her BFF, whom we had visited last Feb and whose visit to us tonight was the first in 15 years.  Now THAT was a good reason to celebrate!

Back to the family tree this evening ... and THANK YOU for dropping by yesterday!
