Balancing Act
In between showers, I managed to spend 13 hours re-landscaping the garden today. When I went indoors for a drink, this cheeky squirrel raided the peanuts in the bird feeder. He wasn't at all bothered when I grabbed my camera...in fact he thought he'd do a bit of posing.
The genus, Sciurus (squirrel), is derived from two Greek words, skia, meaning shadow, and oura, meaning tail. This name alludes to the squirrel sitting in the shadow of its tail. I never knew that.
