God In The Details

As I was walking up the road this afternoon this little piece of design perfection caught my eye.

It's the front door of a block of rental flats owned by the local housing association and it struck me that the juxtaposition of these simple elements was very satisfying and life enhancing.

The architects have done a fine job integrating the whole design - it makes you think that it would be nice to live there. Which, I suppose, is the whole point.
