Flower Friday 8 A rainbow bouquet

Today is significant for 2 reasons: firstly we had the results of the General Election here in the UK and now know that the Conservative party  will be governing us for the next 5 years, whilst in Scotland the SNP had a landslide victory, gaining 56 seats.  I don't intend to express my political views, such as they might be, on this site so the above is just part of the record for my journal.

Today was also significant because another type of victory was being celebrated: the 70th anniversary of VE Day which marks the end of WW2 in Europe. I can only imagine the joy and mixed emotions  of the generation which had lived through those long dark years, on that first day of celebration.
And so to Flower Friday - what better excuse to buy a 'rainbow bouquet' of gerberas from Waitrose, when the weather outside is grey and windy!

Blipping this a day late - some days just don't turn out as you plan.
