New Old FashionedToy

When I was a kid it was my job to mow the front and back lawns every Friday in Summer.  Neighbours had those posh baby blue electric mowers and we didn't, we had an old fashioned green, manual lawnmower.  I used to envy the neighbours with their 10-minutes-and-it's-done routines.  Mine lasted considerably longer.

And you had to overlap the stripes.  God forbid you should leave a tuft.  You'd be forced to wear the Ribbons Of Shame.

Somehow I've managed to convince myself that I actually enjoyed the physical act of mowing and that I did like the appearance of stripes on the lawn.  And so I bought myself a manual mower.

It didn't arrive until 7 this evening so there was no chance of assembling it and getting out to mow.  My back put the Kibosh on that anyway. But.  The first dry evening this week and I hope to enjoy the sounds of spinning blades and no doubt the laughter of disbelieving, bemused neighbours.  Don't care about that, this is for me.

And some lawnmower fun.  Think of me around 3 minutes in.
