Mother's Day - 1952

Dear Diary,

On Mother's Day each year I think of all the women in my life that had a profound impact on the woman I became.  We are a sum total of all their influences but we begin first with our mother.

This is Mom and me in 1952 just after we moved to our home in Massachusetts where I would grow up.  The irises we are standing in front of I will always associate with her.  A soft blue bearded variety, they were my mother's favorite.

My extra photograph today is of my mother's paper doll, circa 1936.  She taught me to make my own 20 years later.  It is one of my cherished reminders of my beautiful and talented mother.  She passed in 2002 and I miss her.  Happy Mother's Day Mom...I remember, always.
