Dockey Wood Bluebells with SLPH

It may have been Sunday, but there was no lie-in for me as I needed a reasonably early start to get to Brownlow Cafe on the Ashridge Estate, Berkhamsted for a 9am meet-up with other members of SLPH (Southern London Photographic Holidays). After drinks and a chat we headed over to Dockey Woods where the Bluebells were putting on a glorious display, and we spent a happy morning clicking away.  The only real blot on our enjoyment was after waiting ages, that magical moment when the sun lit up a woodland path or glade seemed to coincide with people (of which at least one seemed to be dressed in red) wandering across the view.

Eventually we headed back to the cafe for lunch, but by then it was heaving, so a nearby pub was the next on the agenda - but once again we were foiled: they had lost their chef, so no food!  However the village had a community Hub, with cafe serving food: lunch sorted.

A water mill was open nearby.  It was rather small and not quite what we expected, but I managed a sneak a shot of the other members of the group in extras:  thanks for a great day Trevor, June, Liz, James, Gill and Jane!
