Cricket....

After the cold snap at the beginning of May, the weather has warmed up a bit. It was even warm enough to consider playing England's national summer game, cricket. These guys, in their fresh cricket whites, are on the lush, early spring wicket at Didsbury Cricket Club in one of the city's affluent southern suburbs. If you ignored the roar of the traffic on the M60 and the planes banking over Cheadle ready to make their final descent into Manchester Airport, you could just make out the sound of leather hitting willow, one of the definitive sounds of an English summer.
