Capturing my Journey

Butterscotch

This is Fudges daughter Butterscotch. Fudge is daughter of Toffee! This lamb will remain on our farm as a breeding ewe.

Had a crazy morning this morning. Husband and I went to bring in the cows and calves at the farm where we manage the livestock to sort them into two lots, those to calve and those with calves. We began moving them in and there was a calf that had been sleeping in the rushes and woke in a panic and ran the other way from the cattle and dived into the loch that was nearby and went swimming. We were worried he wasn't going to come ashore but husband made a mummy cow roar and he came closer to shore so poor husband waded out to above his waist in the cold water so he could catch the calf and bring it ashore. It had a lift in the buggy to the shed with its mum following. Once they were cozy in the shed warming up we separated  the cattle. Just as we got one lot out a huge heavy hail shower hit and I was taking pictures of the hail we all thought it was my flash (although it was off) but actually it was lightening and thunder. Phew so after getting dried off once poor husband got drenched again.

Back home and seemed like a million office things needed to be dealt with including silly self catering cottage problems. The sky has decided to stop working. Oh joy.

11c 8mph S heavy showers in the morning, less frequent in the afternoon with sunshine.
