Allium

The garden is positively bursting with colour at the moment - I love these bright-purple Alliums - they usually seem to mark the arrival of proper summer weather, though I think the next week or so is going to turn quite chilly. And they thrive in our soil, multiplying from year to year.

A busy sort of day, arranging all the final bits and pieces for my trip to Leeds. Alex went on a water-vole survey refresher course in the middle of the day, and while I was waiting to pick him up I spotted the first swifts of the year. Pete also heard a turtle dove, so summer can't be far away!
