Clouds over Ivinghoe Beacon

Early start this morning to meet up with friends/blippers at 9am at the Brownlow Cafe on the Ashridge Estate. After a hot chocolate and cookie we headed over to Dockey Wood to photograph the bluebells. There was still a stunning carpet of blue throughout the woods.

Lunch was at the local cafe in Ivinghoe (the queue at the Brownlow Cafe was far too long!) and then we walked down to Ford End Watermill which is the only remaining working windmill in Buckinghamshire which still has its original machinery.

By the time we'd looked round and taken a few pics it was 4pm and as everyone had travelled a long way to this meet, decided Pitstone Windmill and Ivinghoe Beacon (which were on our to do list) would have to wait for another day!  Liz and I had a quick stop at Pitstone Windmill before I dropped her back at Ashridge to pick up her car.  I decided to take the 'pretty' route home via Ivinghoe. Passing the National Trust car park I couldn't resist stopping and walking up Ivinghoe Beacon. The views were lovely over the surrounding countryside.

My blip is a long exposure taken from the top with views of the rapeseed fields and if you look really, really closely you can just about see Pitstone Windmill in the distance!

Driving home past Pitstone Windmill, there was a little pink in the sky so I had no other choice but to pull in and pop back down to the windmill for a few more pics!  Finally left to go home at 8.15pm.  A long day but thoroughly enjoyable.

A few pics of the bluebells and the windmill can be seen in the extra photos.

Thanks to everyone for a great day with the lovely company of:
Trevor (TKevs)
Gill (GillKeville)
Liz (LizMBpics)
James (JamesSmith)
Dawn (DawnP)
Jane (JaneKH)
and non blipper Mike.
