Au marché

I haven't done a market blip for a while, and today was a good day for it. I was a bit disappointed by the absence of cherries last week (well, one stall had some, but they were 8.50 euros a kilo so I resisted). Today all the late spring produce seemed to have arrived in a rush: cherries, apricots, nectarines, melons, strawberries, asparagus, tomatoes, new garlic (see extra pic), and mountains of artichokes. I went for a small bag of Spanish cherries at 6.50 a kilo, just as a taster -- when they get cheaper I'll be buying them by the tray and making compote, jam, and clafoutis.
