Parking Ticket

While we were  doing our morning constitutional, I spied two folks running from the Hilton to their cars parked at the curb going north.  The first threw it into reverse and drove north rather quickly.  The second, went into reverse.  Backed up a few feet.  Then into drive.  Tires squealing the car spun around headed south then started to make a right hand turn.  We were crossing the  street with the WALK indicator showing.  Buddy and I nearly met our maker.  Fortunately, the driver saw us.  Gave us a single finger salute.  Drove speedily around us and off down the street.

It was then that I spotted the police officer.  He is a downtown  bike cop.  I laughed and so did he.  We both shook our  heads as he proceeded to walk to the third car.  It was parked in a no parking or standing zone.  As were the two that raced away.  The friendly officer here is writing a parking citation.  Not sure of the lady offered the policeman a cup of coffee and a donut.  But if she did, she still got the ticket.
