a lifetime burning

Eye

Cathy tells me that this is a mountain cornflower (centaurea montana) - just as well I asked, as I thought it might have been some sort of alium.  I'm not the gardner in this house :-) In the late afternoon sunshine, it looks rather like the cornea of an eye to me.

Its been a lovely sunny day here - I've been catching up with the chores.  Not terribly exciting, but all necessary stuff.  Sometimes its just important to chill out and take it easy.

I'm about to cook our dinner now, and there is a nice bottle of white wine chilling in the fridge.  I think we may then give 1864 a try this evening on BBC 4.  It sounds as though it could be interesting.
