Exhilarating!

Headed to North Donegal, for May’s South West Donegal Birdwatchers outing. Started at Dunfanaghy where the tide was out & then headed to Horn Head, but stopped on the other side of the bay to look at some of the waders. As we were there this group of headed onto the beach, I’m sure it was exhilarating to have the wide expanse to ride across.

The wind up at Horn Head was bracing, to say the least, it made it difficult for the telescope to be used & also to take in focus photos, but we saw lots of sea birds & looking down on Razorbill sitting on ledges on the cliffs below, we didn’t walk out to the edge of horn Head this time, my cobwebs were already blown away.

We ended by going to Doe Castle which has recently had some repair work done to the old ruins to try to maintain it for posterity.  A lovely Collie (my extra photo) appeared, he obviously is local, Kim (one of our group) & I had fun throwing things for him, we ended up giving the only non-chocolate biscuits we had left to him, they were of course wolfed down. I noticed that he had lost his front teeth on one side & a piece of his tongue, he must have a few stories to tell.
A lovely day
