some things don't change

Day 2 of our walking trip. Today we went 24km mostly West. Mostly - we had to turn back to catch the bus to the Youth Hostel. The weather was great, no rain at all, but plenty of wind. We did get to the highest point of the wall, about 350m or so. Plenty of up and down along the top of the sill. The second half was less dramatic. We did come to the remains of a Roman bridge where the wall crossed the River Irthing. That's also where we turned back. All in all 24km.

Today's blip shows a Roman altar (an original) with modern sacrifice. Some things don't seem to change.
