bucket list

An 8.30 meeting, a meeting in Stirling to discuss implementation of parts of the 2014 Act next year. Then on to Mortonhall Crematorium to say farewell to Thea.

Thea and I joined the Scottish Office within a year of each other and we became good friends. Over the years our careers took different paths but we always remained close. Thea retired early to look after her elderly mother which placed lots of demands on her time so catch ups were infrequent. We did meet up last summer when I took this photo.

The other week her breathing became difficult and an inoperable tumour was found with a few months prognosis. Within 10 days she had passed away and I had no opportunity to catch up with her.

It was a lovely loving, emotional and funny memorial delivered by a friend from her university days.

With our friend Moyra's death and now Thea's - each aged 58 - it makes one realise how fragile life is. As Thea's message to us went: get on with life. If you have a bucket list get on and complete it!!
