RMS family grave

A solo cemetery Sunday this week, as I attended the committal of the ashes of friend and colleague Simon Smith to the family grave.

His father was architect and artist Ralph Maynard Smith. As an architect possibly best known for the Shell building on the South Bank in London. He worked all his life as a very accomplished artist, but never showed his work.

It was Simon who decided his father's work should be brought to the attention of a wider audience and rightly so. I am incredibly priviliged to have worked on that with him, organising exhibitions, touring exhibitions, producing catalogues and through selling some works raising funds for Simon to write and publish a book on his father's work.

Rest in Peace dear Simon, with the certainty that you have done your father's legacy proud!
