Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Sea Stars

A little boating, a little walking, a little working, (more windows, building a railing…) lots of eating…
And at low tide we went to check on the status of our decimated sea star population which I have been periodically documenting.   Always happy to see that few have sprung up here and there.  The cause of the Sea Star wasting disease has been positively identified as a virus that always lives in the water.  Not new.  So why it has behaved in this way for the last 2 years is still a mystery.

We found 18 purple and 2 small sun stars in our 50 meter stretch but I’m not al all sure how healthy they are.   Will keep checking, and also looking for babies….
