But, then again . . . . .

Store House.

This building was,  allegedly, used to store curling stones in the days when the pond was in use. The door facing the pond (opposite the visible doorway) has been blocked up with the exception of two lookout holes, presumably so that it could be used as a hide. The pond is now too overgrown to see much wildlife though the aquatic life is abundant. Periodically a band of merry men wearing waders come to remove the excess vegetation, it's time they did a repeat performance. In the mean time, it's a nice place for quiet contemplation, photography is maybe a bit limited hence the rather over-used post processing technique.

Merlin was back to see the optician today, complete with specimen jar, to have a blood test; there appear to be sinister things afoot that could be due to his two recent near death experiences. Although he seems to be very fit he is getting on a bit at thirteen years old. We will  hear the results next week.
