Dandelion clocks...

Our lawns have been covered with the golden flowers of the Dandelion.  As soon as they appear my bird feeders have flocks of American Goldfinches come for the black oiled Sunflower seeds.  I kid my granddaughter that the Dandelions hear Pappa get the lawnmower going and quickly pull their flowering heads tightly down to the earth so miss getting them mowed off.  Now though the grass is short the Dandelion clocks stand tall.  They are like fairy clocks.  My husband and I enjoy blowing on them to see the individual seeds float up into the air, just as much as our Granddaughter likes doing this.
