Making the most of the sunny weather

An early lunch in the Danby Bakery/ Tea-shop followed by a drive to Staithes and a walk along the cliff-top to Port Mulgrave.  The wind was cold along the top of the cliffs and we needed to wrap up, but it was just lovely to be out.  Much more sheltered in Staithes itself when we got back and we bought our ice-cream from the little cafe on the front and sat and ate it watching the sea and the people.  We had a lovely chat with some young men, one from Christchurch and one from Sydney who were part of a group who were out to see Yorkshire during the bank holiday (they were both working in London for a couple of years).  We then ended up chatting to a couple from Stokesley who were walking their dogs back to Port Mulgrave (where they'd parked).  So a very sociable afternoon for us.

p.s. the extra photo was taken on our way back into Staithes.  We usually return to the car-park on a different path and I've kept wanting to photograph this partly derelict shed for some time.  So today was the day.
