Solace Adventure Day 8

Bye bye, Solace!

It's always sad to be ending a holiday. We were all up at 6am to get the beds stripped and the rest of our things packed up.so that I could vacuum throughout before we left the boat. It always takes a while ferrying 5 peoples belongings and self-catering paraphernalia up the board-walks to the car.

After an uneventful journey, we got home, looking forward to the use of a spacious bathroom and the use of a hair-drier.

I must admit, I sat down and looked across the room at mum's smiling face on her favourite photo, and had a bit of a weep. For 7 years we have taken her on canal holidays with us and it was last September, when she couldn't come with us, that she had a bump on the head that resulted in her 5 month stay in hospital until she died. I miss not sharing these adventures with her!
