Newbury Clock Tower

The clock tower in Newbury, Berkshire is officially known as the Clock House. The current structure dates from 1929 and replaced an earlier cast iron clock tower built to celebrate Queen Victoria's golden jubilee in 1889. I arrived in Newbury as a stopover to Taunton.

A long drive today firstly from Buckinghamshire to Suffolk to see my Mum who was in great form today. Then I set off to Newbury. I stopped to get a coffee and got absorbed in the cricket for a while so arrived here later than anticipated. Spotted this clock tower when parking my car so an obvious blip.

Off to Taunton tomorrow to watch Yorkshire for two days and they have made a good start today. Hope the weather holds.
