Dipper with mayfly

It was a lovely afternoon for a walk by the River Ceiriog. The wild garlic and other wild flowers were beautiful and the birds were abundant.

We saw a pair of kingfishers flying up the river together and a family of grey wagtails on the rocks.

The dipper in the photo was collecting insects and flying away with them to feed chicks.

The extra photos are of treecreepers. The adult was ascending a tree when three chicks flew to join it, lining up on the trunk. The parent was feeding the chick on the left - it appeared to be larger than the adult, fluffier feathers or good feeding!
