Whitmuir Farm

The scones at Whitmuir organic farm have been awarded the accolade of distinction again by His Lordship and me, even if they have stopped baking their cheese variety.

I'm sure they would taste even better, were that possible, had we cycled there instead of driving, but in our convalescent state that was not an option.

I had a walk round the policies on a path guarded by towering beech trees and covered in  nuts which crunched underfoot as I went.

It was lovely to see a big field of free ranging hens and another sunny field of happy looking pigs, even if the pork sausages in the farm shop is not the fairy tale ending they might have been led to expect.
