Twiggy

Came across this little chap on a dog walk: a long legged spider. What struck me straight away as soon as I saw it on the computer, were  the amazing colours on it's abdomen which were like gold speckles. Quite attractive really if he wasn't a spider!

The tiny fly had just landed on the twig and been quickly locked on. There was no escape! You can just see it spinning it's web onto the branch here. When alarmed it aligns itself along a plant stem with legs outstretched and just look at the length of those legs!!
