Bird Count

Today - two fluffy grouse chicks hiding in the grass - here's mum keeping watch.  Four/ five house martins skirmishing for the same nest at the Moors Centre (see extra photos).
Yesterday - two bundles of black fluff skittering about on the Danby Road with their Snipe mum getting in a state.
Sunday - two mini curved beaked chicks being well looked after by their zealous Curlew mum.  All of these chicks seem to come in two's.  All this wildlife photography - maybe it's time for a new lens.

We've had a lovely walk this afternoon - over the hill and then a new path along Little Fryup Dale - on to the Moors Centre for a cup of tea and an ice-cream followed by a weary couple of miles back to the cottage.
