Lochan na Creaige Duibhe

The upper reaches of our survey takes us to this wee hill loch. As you can see in a past life it has existed at a higher level; when it served as a storage reservoir for a small hydro scheme. The system has fallen into dilapidation and the loch has been drained down.
This outcrop looks quite bizarre. It would clearly have been an isolated little island in previous times but here it appears as though a giant gardener has uprooted this little tree from somewhere else and gently placed it here, balanced precariously on the smooth rock waiting for a permanent home.
