Clipped

Remember the triffid? The Mairie heeded our pleas and finally pruned it, albeit rather late in the winter. It's much lighter in the house now, but I bet the growth by the end of the summer will be spectacular. You can also see our poor massacred wisteria gradually coming back to life; we now have some sturdy wires for it to grip.

When I took this, the clock was stuck at 10:05 and had been for days. We were really missing the chimes, especially on waking in the morning and not knowing what time it was. Happily, it must have been a simple electrical problem rather than something more serious, because late this afternoon it came back to life after someone flicked a switch. All's well again!
